BTExplorer is a user-friendly application that is used to connect and manage Bluetooth devices. BTExplorer discovers Bluetooth devices in the vicinity and presents them in an easy-to-understand format similar to Windows Explorer. BTExplorer visually separates trusted (paired) and untrusted remote devices and identifies friendly names and services of remote devices. Custom icons indicate the device class (type) as well as available services. BTExplorer connects a local Bluetooth device to services on remote devices, facilitating operations including OBEX file transfer, OBEX object push, dial-up networking, FAX, LAN access, and serial port communication.

BTExplorer uses Stonestreet One’s Bluetopia a full-featured Bluetooth protocol stack. BTExplorer is available for Windows Mobile/CE and can run using internal Bluetooth modules or externally connected Bluetooth modules. BTExplorer interfaces to Bluetooth modules via USB or RS-232 with both H4 and CSR BCSP protocols supported.

Use BTExplorer to connect a laptop or PDA to the Internet via a cell phone with Bluetooth connectivity.

BTExplorer allows remote devices to discover, connect, and bond with available services at the local device.

The services supported by the local device include OBEX file transfer, OBEX object push, dial-up networking, FAX, LAN access, and serial port communication. Pairing, security, and encryption settings can be configured for the local device. In addition to the configuration options available, any of the supported services may be added to or removed from the local device.
